Founded 1974, as Euro Action – ACORD (EAA), by merger of U-XU0927 – International Agency for Cooperation in Development (IACOD), set up 1972, and Euro-Action Sahel, also referred to in French as Association internationale pour la coopération et le développement au Sahel (AICDS). Current title adopted 1987. Organizational change process transformed ACORD from a consortium of Northern NGOs to a Pan-African organization, when Head office was relocated from London (UK) to Nairobi (Kenya), 2003. Headquarters agreement with government of Kenya. UK registered Charity: 283302.

Created in 1976, Agency for Co–operation and Research in Development (ACORD) is an international consortium of non-governmental organisations assisting local communities in Africa. ACORD in Mali implements community-based development programmes aimed at poverty alleviation.
