Overall Goal of the Job

The Project Officer is responsible for supporting the effective planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of development and humanitarian projects in line with Qatar Charity’s strategic objectives, donor requirements, and organizational policies. The role ensures that project activities are delivered on time, within budget, and achieve the intended outcomes for targeted beneficiaries.

Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Coordinate and support the implementation of project activities in accordance with approved project plans and budgets.
  • Monitor project progress and ensure activities are delivered efficiently and effectively.
  • Conduct field visits to assess implementation quality and provide technical support where necessary.
  • Prepare project work plans, monthly updates, progress reports, and completion reports.
  • Collect, analyze, and maintain project data and beneficiary information.
  • Ensure compliance with donor regulations, organizational policies, and reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate with local authorities, community leaders, partners, and other stakeholders to facilitate project implementation.
  • Support procurement, logistics, and administrative processes related to project activities.
  • Identify implementation challenges and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
  • Assist in conducting needs assessments, baseline surveys, and monitoring and evaluation activities.
  • Maintain proper project documentation and records.
  • Contribute to proposal development, project design, and budgeting processes when required.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in project management, Development Studies, Social Sciences, Business Administration, International Relations, or a related field.
  • A postgraduate qualification or professional certification in project management is an added advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in project management, humanitarian assistance, or development programming.
  • Experience working with NGOs, international organizations, or donor-funded projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in project planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong project coordination and organizational skills.
  • Excellent report writing and documentation abilities.
  • Sound knowledge of project cycle management and monitoring and evaluation principles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
  • Fluency in English and Arabic; knowledge of additional local languages is an asset.
  • Commitment to humanitarian principles, accountability, and community engagement.
