The Role

The Head of Information Technology will provide strategic leadership and direction for the Bank’s information technology function. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the Bank’s technology infrastructure, systems and applications are secure, reliable, resilient and aligned with the Bank’s strategic and operational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Developing and implementing the Bank’s IT strategy in line with its overall corporate objectives.
• Overseeing the effective management and availability of the Bank’s IT infrastructure, networks, systems, applications and technology services.
• Ensuring the security, integrity and confidentiality of the Bank’s information systems and data.
• Leading technology projects, system upgrades, integrations and digital transformation initiatives.
• Establishing and maintaining appropriate IT policies, procedures, standards and controls.
• Ensuring effective IT risk management, disaster recovery and business continuity arrangements.
• Managing the Bank’s core banking and other critical technology platforms.
• Overseeing IT vendors, service providers, contracts and service-level performance.
• Preparing and managing the IT budget and ensuring effective utilization oftechnology resources.
• Monitoring emerging technologies and recommending appropriate solutions toimprove operational efficiency and customer experience.
• Providing leadership, coaching and development to the IT team.
• Providing Management with regular reports on IT performance, projects, risks andtechnology requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants should possess:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Engineering or a related discipline.
• A relevant Master’s degree and relevant professional IT certifications will be an added advantage.
• Significant relevant professional experience in Information Technology, with substantial experience in a senior or managerial capacity.
• Experience within the banking or financial services sector will be a strong advantage.
• Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, networking, databases, enterprise systems,cybersecurity and IT governance.
• Good understanding of information security, risk management, disaster recovery andbusiness continuity.
• Strong leadership, analytical, problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple technology projects and priorities in a demandingenvironment.
