Background on FSS Ltd

FSS Ltd is a 100% Gambian owned, managed and staffed private security and safety services limited liability company. It was registered on 4th July 2017 but it was not until late 2018 when it was licensed by the Ministry of Interior. It is founded by Retired Lieutenant Colonel Lamin Gano who is a veteran military officer with practical and theoretical experience in various aspects of security. In addition to 16 years of distinguished and meritorious military service career, Lamin Gano served in three international peacekeeping missions. He also worked in the private security sector of both the United Kingdom and Canada. The knowledge and experiences gained from these diverse security and safety backgrounds form the bedrock of the foundation and management of FSS Ltd.

FSS Ltd is founded on a number of objectives. These include a burning desire to contribute to national development through poverty alleviation by providing a platform for quality employment for Gambian youth. We also wish to contribute towards the revitalization of the private security sector by improving the professionalization, commitment and pride of PSOs.

We believe that the private security sector can be transformed to serve as a platform for quality and enduring employment for Gambian youth. The struggle for poverty alleviation through youth employment can only be achieved by the provision of professional jobs with decent salaries. In this regard, FSS Ltd is determined to offer the best training, salaries and management in the private security sector.

Another important objective of FSS Ltd is to serve as a home for former military, police, firefighters and other state security service personnel. We have made significant progress in this regard as a significant number of our PSOs are honourably discharged former state security personnel with good service records including experience in international peacekeeping operations. This is one of the reasons why FSS Ltd is the home of security professionals.
