BACKGROUND
The project “Rural Integrated Climate Adaptation and Resilience Building Project (RICAR)” aims to enhance adaptive capacity of rural populations in The Gambia through support to climate-resilient and diversified livelihoods. The project will focus on concrete climate change adaptation activities to address the climate risks and vulnerabilities identified. This will be done using an integrated risk management approach to address the interface between climate change, agriculture, and food security. The project is managed by The Central Project Coordinating Unit (CPCU) under the Ministry of Environment, Climate Change and Natural Resources, through a Project Management Unit and will be implemented in the Central River and Upper River Regions of the country that are experiencing adverse impacts of climate change.
