WGK was officially registered as a non-governmental organisation on the 5th November, 2008. Its primary mission is to support the medical health sector in The Gambia which includes sponsoring research, helping the Medical Training School, donating healthcare products and equipment to local health centres and hospitals, doing research into female circumcision or FGM and sponsoring school children’s education.
