Job Title: Electrical Superintendent
Department: Engineering & Production
Reporting To: Electrical Engineer
Contract Type: Permanent
Position Summary:
The Electrical Superintendent is responsible for the implementation of the electrical maintenance plans. The individual reports to the Electrical Engineer and supervises all the electricians on the site.
Responsibilities:
- supervise and coordinate the activities of electricians and other electrical workers on-site
- ensure compliance with electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations
- draft maintenance schedules for submission to the Electrical Engineer
- implement Maintenance Schedules accordingly and conduct quality inspections to ensure proper installations
- Review, interpret and implement blueprints, schematics, and other facility documentation
- execute electrical installations according to specifications
- request procurement of spare parts in line with the budget
- troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues as they arise
- work with the maintenance team, other departments and subcontractors to ensure seamless maintenance works
- Inspect and test electrical systems and components to identify hazards and defects.
- conduct needed repair works and adjustments on systems and components
- take records of maintenance works, employee performance, and compliance with regulations
- Provide regular updates to the Electrical Engineer
Required Education, Skills, Competence and Experience
- Diploma in Electrical Engineering
- HND in Electrical Engineering will be an added advantage
- Four (4) years of experience in industrial electrical applications
- Proficiency in electrical maintenance management
- Strong understanding of electrical installation and systems
- Ability to read and interpret electrical designs/schematic drawings
- Physical stamina and ability to work in various environmental conditions, beyond normal working hours and weekends.
