Background

Gamswitch is seeking an Assistant Operations Support Officer to strengthen its day-to-day operations and ensure uninterrupted payment services. The successful candidate will support transaction monitoring, reconciliation, incident follow-up, reporting, and stakeholder coordination playing a key role in maintaining the reliability and compliance of The Gambia’s national payment switch.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor daily transaction flows across all payment channels; identify and escalate failed transactions, delays, and exceptions.
• Support reconciliation and settlement validation, including investigation and resolution of exceptions, variances, and disputes.
• Prepare routine and ad-hoc operational reports covering transaction volumes, service issues, and performance indicators.
• Liaise with internal departments and participating institutions on operational queries and follow-up
• Assist in compiling data for UAT and integration testing of new member institutions and
• Maintain organized digital filing of incident reports, reconciliation records, and correspondence for audit
• Support development and updating of standard operating procedures based on recurring operational

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Banking and Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Information Technology, Economics, or related fields.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in banking operations, payment services, reconciliation, or settlement
• Working knowledge of electronic payment systems, ATM/POS operations, fund transfers, and settlement is an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy; good analytical and problem-solving
• High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professional conduct; ability to work under pressure in a 24/7
