Background
Qatar Charity is an international non-governmental organization established in the State of Qatar in 1992. The organization contributes to development and humanitarian response efforts in collaboration with relevant government entities and local and international stakeholders, in line with the national strategies of host countries. Annually, Qatar Charity’s interventions cover over 50 countries across Asia, Africa, and Europe, implementing developmental and humanitarian initiatives through its field offices or in partnership with executing entities.
The Gambia branch of Qatar Charity was established to contribute to achieving national development goals in the Republic of The Gambia, as outlined in relevant national strategies. This includes areas within Qatar Charity’s scope of work, such as education, health and nutrition, economic empowerment, social protection, social housing, water and sanitation, and humanitarian response during crises and natural disasters. The branch operates across The Gambia, delivering development and humanitarian services to underserved areas in coordination with stakeholders, particularly relevant government entities, to ensure integrated and efficient efforts.
Qatar Charity-Gambia is seeking indicative audit proposals from qualified and reputable audit firms to provide external audit services for its operations in The Gambia.
Eligibility of Audit Firms
Proposals are invited from:
Internationally recognized audit firms preferably ranked or having affiliation within the Top 20 globally, or Other reputable audit firms with demonstrable international exposure, cross‑border audit experience, and proven capacity to apply International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
Scope of Services
The proposed services should cover the following:
- Audit of financial statements prepared in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) Assessment of accounting policies, estimates, and disclosures.
- Regulatory and Compliance Requirements Consideration of any local regulatory requirements, including Statutory declarations, Regulatory filings and Tax compliance or filings (where applicable)
Audit Deliverables
- Audited financial statements.
- Management letter highlighting internal control observations and recommendations.
- Audit completion report.
Proposal Content
Interested firms are requested to submit an indicative proposal including the following:
- Firm profile Including: international affiliationsand years of operation and Relevant experience, particularly: Audits performed in The Gambia and/or similar jurisdictions.
- IFRS and donor‑funded or international entity audits.
- Proposed audit approach and methodology.
- Indicative audit fees, clearly stating: Scope covered by the fee.
- Any assumptions or exclusions.
- Proposed audit timeline.
- Key audit team members and their qualifications
