Job Overview
Provides strategic leadership, direction, and oversight of NAWEC’s Electricity Business, ensuring the delivery of safe, reliable, affordable, and sustainable electricity services across The Gambia. Responsible for the overall performance of electricity generation, transmission, distribution, system operations, and commercial functions.
- Develop and execute Electricity Business Strategy aligned with national energy priorities
- Provide leadership over generation, transmission, distribution and system operations
- Drive revenue growth, loss reduction, cost optimization and commercial efficiency
- Lead business transformation and organizational change initiatives
- Ensure compliance with legislation, regulations, and governance requirements
- Promote HSSE culture and ensure regulatory compliance
- Represent NAWEC in national and international electricity sector forums
- Master’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Power Systems, or Energy Engineering (or related)
- Professional Engineering Registration — added advantage
- PMP, Asset Management, or Utility Management certification — added advantage
- Minimum 10 years in electricity, energy, utilities, or infrastructure
- At least 5 years in a senior executive or strategic leadership position
- Proven track record in operational management and business transformation
