• Background

CISS – Cooperazione Internazionale Sud-Sud is an Italian non-profit NGO, founded in 1985, committed to promoting human rights, social justice, and sustainable development. It works through community-based approaches in international cooperation projects, fostering local empowerment and inclusive, rights-based development processes, with a focus on defending the rights of vulnerable groups.

CISS is implementing the Green-2-Growth Project with funding from the European Union Cooperation, an initiative aimed at promoting the production and use of organic fertilizer by smallholder farmers in The Gambia. The project seeks to enhance community awareness and adoption  of good agricultural practices to restore soil health and food self-sufficiency – through effective communication, advocacy and efficient operational support.

CISS is seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual to fill the vacant position of Communication and Logistics officer to support the visibility and smooth implementation of the project.

• Key Responsibilities

• Communication 

• Adopt and implement the project Communication and visibility plan in line with donor requirements.
• Manage project social media platforms and regularly update CISS Community Facebook and upload project activities to the google drive.
• Design IEC materials: Flyer, banners, brochures and reports
• Ensure branding and visibility compliance for all project materials
• Support CISS awareness campaigns, stakeholder dialogue and media engagement
• Draft speeches, articles and project briefs for internal and external audience.

• Logistics and Operations 

• Plan and coordinator all project logistics including field visits, workshops, training and meetings.
• Handle procurement support, venue bookings, travel arrangements and distribution of materials.
• Maintain logistics inventory, assets register and communication material stock
• Support the project coordinator in preparation of workshop plan and activity plan.
• Ensure timely and cost-effective logistical support for all project activities
• Maintain filing system for all communication and logistics documents.

• Qualification and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, Logistics or Development studies.
• Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in a similar role with NGOs / CSOs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English. Local languages is an added advantage.
• Strong experience in managing social media and digital communication.
• Ability to work independently under pressure and in the field.
• High level of integrity, creativity and attention to detail.
