Eye Cataract Project in The Gambia
Qatar Charity – The Gambia Office invites qualified hospitals, eye clinics, and specialized ophthalmology service providers to submit bids for the implementation of an Eye Cataract Project aimed at restoring sight and improving eye health for vulnerable communities across The Gambia.
Scope of Services
The selected service provider shall be responsible for the following:
Eye Screening

- Screening and assessment of patients with eye conditions.
- Identification and diagnosis of cataract cases and other eye diseases.
Medical Treatment

- Provision of medications and treatment for patients who do not require surgical intervention.
Cataract Surgeries
-
- Conducting cataract surgeries for eligible patients.
- Performing surgeries for congenital cataracts in children aged 1-15 years, where applicable.
Post-Operative Care
-
- Follow-up examinations and post-operative treatment for all surgical patients.
- Monitoring and management of any complications arising from surgery.
Provision of Spectacles

- Supply of prescription spectacles for distance vision.
- Supply of reading glasses as required following treatment or surgery.
Eligibility Requirements
Interested bidders must:
- Be legally registered and licensed to operate in The Gambia.
- Have qualified ophthalmologists and relevant eye care personnel.
- Demonstrate experience in cataract surgery and eye care programs.
- Possess adequate facilities and equipment to deliver the required services.

- Company profile and registration documents.
- Relevant licenses and certifications.
- Technical proposal outlining methodology and implementation plan.
- Financial proposal detailing the cost of services.
- Evidence of similar assignments successfully completed.
