Background
Ding-Ding Yiriwa Federation is a Community Based Organization (CBO) operating in Kombo North and South District, Affiliated to ChildFund – Gambia. The Organization facilitates the empowerment of youth and children, identified as living with deprived, excluded and vulnerability through participation, involvement and protection to grow up into productive citizens. Ding Ding Yiriwa Federation was established in the year 2017.
We are looking for an experienced Finance Controller to join our team, who will be reporting directly to the Federation Manager. This role combines financial management with key administrative functions, ensuring both financial integrity and smooth operational support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Management: Maintain and manage all financial records, prepare and submit accurate financial reports, oversee budgeting processes, and ensure compliance with all financial policies and regulations.
- Payroll and Compliance: Review payroll for accuracy, ensure timely salary payments, and oversee monthly returns for taxes and statutory deductions.
- Audit and Safeguarding: Serve as the lead contact for internal and external audits, uphold safeguarding standards, and ensure the integrity of the Federation’s financial instruments.
- Team Supervision: Supervise the Finance Assistant to ensure accuracy and timeliness in meeting his\her functions.
- Financial systems: Ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded in the accounting systems (QuickBooks and CAMEL).
- Reporting and Reconciliation: Provide monthly budget vs. actuals reports, reconcile bank accounts, and ensure timely submission of cash, payroll, and expense records.
- Participate in project proposal development: support the strategies and developments of the Federation’s development activities particularly in budgeting.
Qualifications and experience:

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. A professional certification (e.g., ACCA) is an advantage.
- At least 3–5 years of relevant experience in finance, accounting, and administration, preferably in a non-profit or project-based organization.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks and CAMEL, with advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
