Rural Development Organization (RDO) requires the services of qualified young Gambians to fill the position of gardener.  8 positions are open. 

Qualification and Experience

Candidates with certification related to garden work and post qualification experience are sought. Candidates without certification but possesses high passion for agriculture and are willing to enhance their skills on the job may be considered.

Age and nationality

Candidate must be between 18 and 35 years of age and a Gambian national.

Basic Duties

1. Field Preparation

• Field Clearing
• Field Demarcation
• Bed Preparation

1. Nursery preparation (raising seedlings)
2. Other garden operations such as:

• Tilling, turning,
• Soil enhancement/Fertilizer application (compost making and application).
• Plant Treatment (preparation and application of biopesticides)
• Plant spacing, thinning and pruning
• Mulching
• Staking
• Watering

1. Harvesting, sorting and packaging of vegetables and fruits.
2. Yield Recording

Salary and other benefits

Salary package commensurate with qualification and experience. Accommodation and feeding will be provided. A dual salary package (fixed plus performance-based bonus) awaits successful applicants.
