Kangkilling Language Service, a subsidiary of Gamjobs Limited, is expanding its pool of qualified interpreters in Gambia’s national langauges ( notably Mandinka, Wolof and Pulaar) to support the growing demand for professional interpretation services across government institutions, development partners, NGOs, international organizations, diplomatic missions, and the private sector.

We are seeking experienced and competent interpreters who can facilitate accurate, impartial, and culturally appropriate communication between English and one of the required local languages.

Scope of Work

Successful candidates will be engaged on an assignment basis to provide interpretation services during meetings, trainings, workshops, conferences, interviews, community engagements, and other official events.

The selected interpreters will be expected to:

• Interpret accurately from English to Mandinka, Wolof, or Pulaar, and vice versa.
• Ensure clear, complete, and impartial interpretation without altering the intended meaning.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
• Arrive on time and be available for assignments as required.
• Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and effective communication skills.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

Applicants must:

• Be fluent in spoken and written English.
• Be fluent in at least one of the following local languages: Mandinka, Wolof, or Pulaar.
• Demonstrate the ability to interpret effectively between English and the selected local language.
• Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Previous interpretation experience with NGOs, government institutions, international organizations, conferences, or development partners will be an added advantage.
• Be available to undertake assignments at short notice.
