ROLE PURPOSE    

The Intern Developer will support the design, development, testing, deployment and maintenance of simple, effective web applications. The intern will work with internal teams to understand operational needs and translate them into practical digital solutions, while gaining structured exposure to modern software development, AI-assisted coding and cloud deployment.

AcroMetrics Consultancy Ltd is a data and technology consultancy that develops practical, scalable solutions for organisations working in health research, public health and other data-driven sectors. Our work includes software development, data management, analytics, digital transformation and cloud-based solutions.

We are seeking a motivated Intern Developer who is eager to build practical experience by contributing to real applications that support AcroMetrics operations and client needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES   

Application Development

• Develop basic web applications to support AcroMetrics operations and project
• Work with internal teams to understand business needs and translate them into clear, usable software
• Build and improve front-end and back-end application components under
• Write clean, maintainable and well-structured code in line with agreed development
• Integrate applications with databases and external services where

AI-Assisted Development

• Use Claude and other approved AI development tools to support solution design, coding, testing and
• Review, test and validate AI-generated code before it is used in an
• Document prompts, assumptions and important technical decisions where
• Apply responsible and secure practices when using AI tools, especially when handling company or client

Testing and Troubleshooting

• Test application functions to confirm reliability, usability and expected
• Identify, document and resolve software
• Participate in user acceptance testing and incorporate feedback into
• Perform basic checks across browsers, devices and user scenarios where

Cloud Deployment and Maintenance

• Assist with deploying and managing applications on AWS
• Support basic configuration, monitoring, backup and troubleshooting
• Improve and maintain existing applications based on user feedback and operational
• Follow agreed security, access control and change-management

Documentation and Teamwork

• Maintain clear technical documentation, setup notes and user
• Use Git and shared repositories to manage code changes and collaborate with the
• Provide regular progress updates and raise technical issues
• Share knowledge, lessons learned and completed work with
• Participate in planning meetings, demonstrations and review sessions as

EXPECTED OUTPUTS    

Depending on the duration of the internship and the projects assigned, the intern will be expected to contribute to the following outputs:

• One or more working web application features or small

PERSON SPECIFICATION 

ESSENTIAL

Education

•  Final-year students or recent graduates in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Engineering or a related discipline.

Knowledge and Skills

•  Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

•  Basic knowledge of at least one back-end language or environment, such as Python, PHP or Node.js.

•  Familiarity with relational databases, such as MySQL or PostgreSQL.

•  Ability to understand a problem, break it into manageable parts and propose a practical solution.

•  Good written and verbal communication skills.

•  Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

•  Willingness to learn, receive feedback and adapt to new tools and technologies.

•  Interest in cloud technologies; AWS experience is an advantage.

•  Experience using Claude, ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, Cursor or another AI coding assistant.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
