LECTURER POSITIONS – SOCIAL WORK PROGRAMMES
INTRODUCTION
SOS PTPC is a training institution under SOS Children’s Villages in The Gambia committed to quality professional training in Social Work and related disciplines. The institution delivers competency-based education aimed at strengthening child protection, community development, education, and social service delivery.
SOS PTPC is recruiting suitably qualified candidates for:
- Lecturer: Criminal Justice, Child Rights, Human Rights & Child Protection.
POSITION SUMMARY (GENERAL)
The lecturers will be responsible for delivering academic and practical instruction in their respective modules within the Social Work Programme. The roles include preparing lesson plans, delivering lectures, assessing students, and ensuring learners acquire both theoretical knowledge and practical competencies relevant to social work practice.
LECTURER: CRIMINAL JUSTICE, CHILD RIGHTS, HUMAN RIGHTS & CHILD PROTECTION
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver lectures and facilitate learning in assigned modules
- Develop lesson plans and teaching materials
- Assess student performance and progress
- Link theory to real-life protection and justice systems
- Support curriculum implementation and continuous improvement
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Criminal Justice, Social Work, Human Rights, or related field
- Master’s degree is an added advantage
- Teaching qualification preferred
- Experience in tertiary or adult education
- NAQAA accreditation is an added advantage.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS (ALL POSITIONS)
- Strong communication and facilitation skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Experience in adult or tertiary education
- Strong classroom management skills
- ICT and digital teaching skills are an advantage
- Commitment to safeguarding and institutional values of SOS PTPC
