Responsible to: Senior Legal and Compliance Manager
JOB SUMMARY:
To assist in developing legal and compliance matters relating to interpreting, reviewing, and mitigating potential legal risk. He/she will ensure the prevention of or deal with violations of legal guidelines and internal policies of the GT Board.
KEY FUNCTION:
- To support in drafting, modifying, and revising procedures, policies, regulations, reports, etc., periodically to identify hidden risks or non-conformity issues.
- To conduct regular reviews of policies and procedures to ensure non-deviation from legal standards and policies.
- Responsible for enforcing regulations in all aspects and levels within the industry as well as providing guidelines on compliance matters
- Assist in achieving compliance with legal guidelines and best practices of corporate governance to preserve the Board’s integrity in making sure it stays on a lawful and ethical course.
- Support SML&C to assess GT Board’s future ventures and projects to identify possible compliance or legal risks.
- Review the work and files of other departments when necessary to identify compliance issues and provide advice on land allocations, contracts, procurement transactions, agreements, marketing activities, etc.
- Keep abreast of legal and Regulatory developments within or outside of the GT Board and Tourism Industry.
- Deal with all legal matters on the Tourism Development Area (TDA) land, e.g., Encroachment, trespasses, illegal occupation and settlement, and repossession by GT Board.
