Position: Manager – Gambia Civil Service Cooperative Credit Union
Report to: Board of Directors

Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to assume the role of Manager at the Gambia Civil Service Cooperative Credit Union. The Manager will be responsible for overseeing the overall operations and strategic direction of the credit union, ensuring the efficient utilization of NACCUGSoft as the core banking software and effectively managing the cash book and trial balance using Excel. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of credit union operations, and a proven track record in financial management.

Responsibilities:
Leadership and Strategic Management:
Provide visionary leadership to drive the credit union’s strategic objectives and foster a culture of excellence.
Develop and implement strategic plans, policies, and initiatives in alignment with the credit union’s mission and values.
Ensure effective communication and collaboration with the board of directors, staff, and members.

Financial Management:
Oversee financial operations, including budgeting, financial reporting, and asset/liability management.
Monitor financial performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement measures to enhance financial sustainability.
Maintain a strong internal control environment and ensure compliance with NACCUG and CBG regulatory requirements.

Operations and Member Services:

Manage day-to-day operations, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of member services.
Implement policies and procedures to safeguard member deposits, optimize loan portfolio management, and maintain high-quality service standards.
Foster a member-centric culture, addressing member inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.

Technology and System Management:
Utilize NACCUGSoft as the core banking software, overseeing its effective utilization and ensuring data integrity.
Manage the cash book and trial balance using Excel, maintaining accurate financial records and supporting timely reporting.
Stay abreast of technological advancements and recommend system enhancements to improve operational efficiency.

Regulatory Compliance and Risk Management:
Ensure compliance with NACCUG regulations, legal requirements, and other applicable regulations.
Develop and maintain risk management policies and procedures to mitigate operational, credit, and compliance risks.
Collaborate with external auditors and regulatory bodies to facilitate audits and examinations.

Team Development and Supervision:
Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to staff, promoting a culture of teamwork, professional development, and high performance.
Conduct regular performance evaluations, set goals, and provide constructive feedback to enhance individual and team performance.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., ACCA, CFA) preferred.
Proven experience in a managerial role within a credit union or financial institution.
In-depth knowledge of credit union operations, financial management, and regulatory requirements.
Experience in utilizing NACCUGSoft as the core banking software and proficiency in Excel for cash book and trial balance management.
Strong leadership abilities, with the capacity to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
Excellent financial management skills, including budgeting, financial analysis, and risk management.
Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
Sound decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to adapt to changing environments and lead through organizational change.
High ethical standards and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.

Note: The Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing the operations of the Gambia Civil Service Cooperative Credit Union, utilizing NACCUGSoft as the core banking software and managing cash book and trial balance in Excel.
