SOS Children’s Villages in The Gambia is a non-governmental social development organisation that has been active in the field of children’s rights and committed to children’s needs and concerns since 1982. Focussing its work on children without parental care and children in families in difficult circumstances, the organisation has a wide range of programmes, which include: Children’s Villages, Supervised Independent Living Arrangements, Small Group Homes,, Family & Community Strengthening Programmes, Kindergartens, Lower, Upper Basic and High Schools, a Medical  Clinic, Vocational Training Centres,  Youth Empowerment project, Green Economy and Education Project,  and a Monetizing Waste Project.

SOS Children’s Villages in The Gambia GENDER EQUALITY FIRST PROJECT is looking for qualified suitable candidates for the following positions; Project Coordinator.

LOCATION: BASSE, UPPER RIVER REGION

PROJECT COORDINATOR(Basse, Upper River Region)

The Project Coordinator is responsible for overall team management, coordinating project  activities, ensuring results, developing action plans, identifying corrective measures, drafting reports, budget management and donor compliance. The Project Coordinator will have significant gender equality, grant management and monitoring & evaluation expertise and will be responsible for representing the project at local and regional platforms. The Project Coordinator will be supervised on a day-to-day basis by the Basse Programme Location Manager.

Position Demands

  • A Masters Degree in Project Management or related field; Development Studies, Social Sciences, Management and Gender 
  • Minimum of two(2) years experience in managing related projects 
  • Ability to think strategically and implement complex projects 
  • Ability to manage a diverse project team 
  • Ability to mainstream gender in project implementation
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must be ICT literate
