Background:
The National Nutrition Agency (NaNA) is a semi-autonomous government institution under the Office of the Vice President, charged with the responsibility of coordinating all nutrition and nutrition related activities in the country. Nutrition being a crucial component of any development plan and agenda, it has been recognized that mass media as part of Social and Behavioural Change Communication is a critical component of NaNA’s work.

Therefore, NaNA invests a lot in disseminating information through the use of radios. Leveraging on this, the Agency through support from partners, established an Institutional Radio Station (NaNA FM), a
nationwide radio station that will bring Social and Behavioural Change Communication messages to a wider audience, reaching vulnerable persons, and groups such as pregnant women, lactating mothers, children, and the elderly throughout the country.

The radio will aim to enhance communication and outreach efforts, particularly in the areas of Nutrition, Health, Education, Agriculture, Social Protection and other development topics. To ensure the successful
management and operationalization of the radio station in Kwinella Radio Station, NaNA seeks to employ a Radio Producer/Presenter

Objective:

To create, produce, and present engaging radio content that informs, entertains, and connects
with the audience while upholding the station's editorial standards and objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Content Creation: Develop innovative ideas and formats for programs and segments based
on audience preferences and trends.

Production: Coordinate all phases of radio production: pre-production, live/on-air recording,
and post-production. Operate and maintain technical equipment (microphones, mixers, editing software, etc.) to ensure audio quality.

Presentation: Host and present live or recorded shows with professionalism, using voice
techniques to captivate the audience.

Audience Engagement: Engage with listeners via social media, call-ins, SMS, and public
events, and analyze audience feedback and listenership metrics to inform content
improvements.

Research and Development: Stay current on news, trends, and entertainment to keep content relevant.

Collaboration: Collaborate with the editorial and technical teams to ensure consistent and quality programming.

Compliance and Ethics: Follow national and station-level broadcasting laws and guidelines, upholding editorial integrity, ensuring accuracy, impartiality and respect for diversity.

Administrative Duties: Maintain production schedules and manage guest bookings, preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual reports on the progress of the radio

Any other duty assigned by the Director General or his/her designate.

Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate must possess:

A Bachelors’ Degree in Media, Communication, Journalism or its equivalent in a related field.

A minimum of three (3) years of relevant work experience.

Additional Competencies:

Proven teamwork and collaboration skills.

Excellent interpersonal communication skills.

Ability to communicate fluently in at least two local languages.

Proficiency in desktop applications, including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Capability to work under pressure and in diverse environments.

Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays

Competent in identifying and resolving basic technical issues.

Demonstrated experience in radio and content production and presentation.

Familiarity with an audio recording and editing software.

Ability to meet tight deadlines without compromising quality.

Report writing Skills
