Job Focus Area – General branch operations (Loans (Women Finance & MSMEs), Deposits, Remittances, Digitization, Partnerships, etc.).
Department: Branch Management
Reports To: Head of Branch Management
Supervises: The Regional Manager is responsible for all the branches within his/her region, driving regional Branch Management priorities, reviewing the activities of the Branch staff through the Branch Managers.
Duty Station: The duty station can be anywhere within rural Gambia
Job Purpose:
The Regional Manager – Is responsible for driving loan growth (Women Finance and MSMEs, deposit and remittances growth, portfolio quality, and sustainability of the lending business within the assigned regions through business development, credit oversight, risk management, and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
The key responsibilities are broken down into seven deliverables;
- Business Development & Growth
- Support the implementation of the impact 2030 initiatives across the regions
- Develop and implement regional MSME and retail loan business acquisition strategies in line with Impact 2030 requirements.
- Track the regional MSME loan against budget and ensure the delivery of budget on a monthly basis
- Identify new markets and partnerships and strive to achieve regional Loans, deposit targets and remittances.
- Develop and implement Women Finance strategies aligned with institutional goals in line with the impact 2030 strategy of revamping of the Women Finance program.
- Drive growth of Women Finance loan portfolio through driving organic growth, new community surveys, dormant account reactivation, Women Finance Fixed Asset financing etc. And increase savings of borrowers.
- Profiling of all Women Finance borrowers to inform loan repayment structure and development of new products
- Activate the Women Chapters across the branches and communicate salient company developments through the Women whats App groups.
- Ensure efficient delivery of the Women Finance program through the digitisation of field activities
- Promote financial literacy and inclusion initiatives targeting women.
- Ensure the full execution of Women Finance loan automation process.
Portfolio & Credit Management
- Oversee portfolio performance and quality.
- Monitor Portfolio At Risk, delinquency, and recovery.
- Ensure compliance with the Credit Policy Guide (CPG) as well as Product Development Documents (PDDs).
- Approve credit proposals within authority.
Deposit Mobilisation
- Drive the acquisition of deposits and Remittances targets of across the network
- Draft partnership proposals to companies, institutions, parastatals etc to solicit business for deposit mobilisation and loan growth
- Lead the cash collection campaign across the branches
- Initiate customer reward systems to foster retention and loyalty
Risk Management & Compliance
- Ensure regulatory and internal policy compliance.
- Adhere to approved Standard Operational Procedures (SOPs)
- Identify and mitigate all across the regions under your purview.
- Enforce KYC and AML/CFT standards.
- Risk Assess all the loans and deposit products
- Conduct portfolio reviews across the branches under your supervision.
Leadership & People Management
- Lead and coach regional teams (Branch Managers, Relationship Managers, Account Officers, Head Tellers, Tellers, Customer Service Assistants, Drivers etc.).
- Identify training needs of staff and support the through capacity building.
- Set targets and conduct performance evaluations.
- Promote ethical and customer-focused culture.
Operational Oversight
- Ensure efficient branch operations.
- Monitor loan processing turnaround time.
- Resolve operational issues.
- Support product, digital innovations and system rollouts.
- Ensure adequate staffing is maintained at all branches at all times.
Reporting & Strategic Input
- Prepare regional performance reports.
- Analyze trends and provide recommendations.
- Participate in strategic planning.
- Attend management meetings and present product performance
- Provide regional input for the preparation of Board Reports
- Respond to Internal Control, Internal Audit, Compliance External Auditors as well as Central Bank Audits
- Train current remittance and Wave agents and onboard new ones

Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Banking, Economics, or Business Administration.
- Master’s degree or professional certification is an added advantage.
- 7–10 years banking experience with 3–5 years in MSME management.
