Over the past few years The Gambia witnessed a steady rise in entrepreneurship in the country which has been brought about by government policies especially through GIEPA, GCCI and other agencies such as NEDI, NEMA, GICAV etc.
There have been a number of projects geared towards encouraging entrepreneurship in the country and amongst them are the EMPRETEC Training program (coordinated by GIEPA) and Start-Up Incubator (coordinated by American Chamber of Commerce and funded by US Embassy Banjul).
I would like to feature some business start-ups that are doing well but are unknown to most people in The Gambia. I feel that given the necessary support these businesses will continue to do very well in the near future and they will contribute positively towards the development of the economy in The Gambia as well as create employment.
