𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗝𝗼𝗯 𝗦𝗲𝗲𝗸𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗽 𝗦𝗮𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 “𝗜’𝗺 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗱” 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗹𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴

I have explained this several times in some of my articles, yet I still see some job seekers making the same mistake: commenting “𝗜’𝗺 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗱” under a job post and then waiting for the person who posted the job to respond.

I understand that saying “I’m interested” is a way of showing that you want the opportunity. However, 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 “𝗜’𝗺 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗱” 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗷𝗼𝗯.

If a job post provides a link, application form, email address, phone number, or specific instructions for applying, please take the time to 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗱.

Instead of commenting “I’m interested” and sitting back waiting for someone to contact you, take action. Check the requirements, prepare your CV and other necessary documents, and submit your application through the 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗱 provided in the job post.

I have already explained this in previous articles, but unfortunately, 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗷𝗼𝗯 𝘀𝗲𝗲𝗸𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗱𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴. This can cause you to waste valuable time and, more importantly, 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻 𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 simply because you did not apply correctly.

𝗥𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿:

“𝗜’𝗺 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗱” 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁.
“𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗹𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴” 𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.

If the post tells you exactly how to apply, 𝗱𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝗶𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗿𝘂𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗿 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗹𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁. Follow the instructions and apply.

📌 𝗝𝗼𝗯 𝘀𝗲𝗲𝗸𝗲𝗿𝘀, 𝗽𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗷𝗼𝗯 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘁𝘀 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹𝘆. Don’t just comment “I’m interested.” Take the next step and actually apply. Your next opportunity may be waiting for you—but 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻!
