DING-DING YIRIWA FEDERATION

Applications are invited from suitable qualified persons to fill the following vacant position with Ding-Ding Yiriwa Federation; a Local NGO working with ChildFund The Gambia and operating in Kombo South and North District. 

This vacancy shall be fill latest 1st August, 2026.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• A minimum of grade 9 certificate.
• At least three years’ work experience in driving
• Experience in NGO circle community work is an added advantage
• Ability to communicate in at least two common local languages and literate in English is desirable.
• Ability to speak at least two local languages within the operational area is necessary.
• Possession of A, B and C driving license is an added advantage.
• Possession of certificates of character and health
• Must be between 30 to 50 years of age.

O. R:

• Reports and works directly under the HR/Financial Controller.
• Conduct daily checking of the vehicle (hydraulic level, water coolant level, engine oil level, vehicle reflector, spanners, hydraulic lifter, spare tyre etc.) 
• Keep the vehicle clean at all times (before and after work)
• Uphold Safeguarding principles during and after working hours.
• Keep the daily mileage record for journeys covered.
• Report emerging fault on time and ensure periodic maintenance of the vehicle
• Assist mechanic in securing genuine parts for the vehicle during maintenance
• Custodian of vehicle road taxes and insurance document
• Strictly observed traffic rules during driving.
• No unauthorized person should have access to the vehicle or else the driver in charge bears the risk consequent.
• The vehicle must not under any circumstance be used for commercial gain.
• Driver ensured that all passengers on board puts on seat belts when the vehicle is in motion.
• Overloading of the vehicle is prohibited.
• Verify all baggage against illicit content before onboarding. 
• Driver should wears the organizational uniform whilst on duty.
• On emergency, driver can be withdrawn for duties after working hours or on weekends.
• Must possess a functional phone for contacts when the need arise.
