Role purpose
The Senior Technical Manager will lead the company’s systems and network operations function, ensuring a secure, robust, and scalable platform with high availability and strong performance. The role provides technical leadership, operational oversight, and supervision of all staff within the systems and network function.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day systems and network infrastructure and operations
- Design, deploy, support, and optimise telecommunications and network
- Supervise all network and system engineering and support staff, including coaching, evaluation, and performance management.
- Monitor network and service performance using metrics, dashboards, logs, and system tools; analyse and report system and network usage trends.
- Oversee troubleshooting and incident response, including emergency on-call response and coordination with third-party support for 24×7 cover where required.
- Plan and execute preventive maintenance, including scheduled after-hours maintenance to reduce
- Develop and implement network and system processes, procedures, and controls to improve reliability, security, and scalability.
- Work closely with the CTO on the implementation and integration of new products and

He/She will be required to
- Liaise with managerial, administrative, and technical teams to define information needs, data flows, and system definitions.
- Establish and enforce systems access controls, permissions, and security
- Coordinate and enforce protocols for operation within the core
- Proactively check systems to optimise performance and initiate recovery actions after
- Implement regular housekeeping, including backups, restore testing, and routine integrity
- Manage data distribution, storage, and retention across appropriate storage devices/media.
- Coordinate system updates, upgrades, and replacement of obsolete versions/equipment.
- Provide day-to-day user support and guidance on data structures, system usage, and

Minimum qualifications & experience
- Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related
- Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience strongly preferred; senior ISP/network operations experience is an advantage.
- Strong working knowledge of ISP/core network operations, network security, and systems
Technical certifications (required or strongly preferred)
- CCNA (minimum) or equivalent networking
- CCNP (advantage), especially Enterprise or Service Provider
- MikroTik (MTCNA/MTCRE) or equivalent routing/switching certification (advantage).
- Systems certifications are an advantage (e.g., Microsoft Windows Server / Microsoft 365 / Azure Fundamentals).
- Linux administration certification (e.g., LPIC-1/2 or equivalent) is an
